Enjoying the Prosperous Historical Heritage of Spain’s Architecture
There are many things that can be get used to history, and a lot of the things that could tell you about history lies in non-physical artifacts such as language and music, or physical artifacts for example paintings, sculptures, and architectural structures. It’s just that architectural structures can easily be lost through wars, through the ravages of time, and by formulating way to the structures of a new era. A lot of Spain’s finest architectural pieces can be seen all over the country, so if it’s your first time there as a traveler, it’s most excellent to measure yourself and play your vacation well so that you can visit as many historic structures as you can.
As a first time tourist in Spain, it may be somewhat of a disheartening task to find your way around and to discover all of the amazing architectural structures on your own. Take notice of the season in the country you are visiting so that you can dress correctly, take note of the cultural dissimilarities that your own country has with the country that you want to visit, and take note of the language that they speak in that country so that you’ll at any rate know what to expect in terms of communication. To be certain that you can express what you need when you need to, it’s best to know a bit about the language of the country you will visit; Spanish, for instance, can simply be learned through sites that offer free language lessons like Rocket Spanish. Rocket Spanish or Bust is an excellent tool that can aid you in learning to speak Spanish.
It’s relatively incredible that some of the oldest architectural structures include manmade buildings dated back to as far as the Bronze Age. In the Balearic Islands, you’ll find structural design created during the Bronze Age, nearly all of which are funeral chambers and watch towers. In Avila and Santa Tecla, you’ll discover the walled villages which are mostly of Iberian and Celtic influences. Other prehistoric structures like those in the walled villages of Avila show the obvious Iberian and Celtic influences and also the truth that there was some sort of urban planning already in place during those times because of the grid-like arrangements of houses and streets.
During the time when Rome was taking control of countries left and right, Spain experienced a change in their culture and this was reflected in their architecture in addition. The cultural influences of Rome could be seen in the construction of churches in the style of the temples of Cordoba and in the Talavera la Vieja. Aqueducts were also built, the most famous and best-preserved of which is the Aqueduct of Segovia which can still be visited up till now.
As Spain becomes more changed by French and German styles of architecture, buildings leaned towards a more Gothic type of influence. Gothic influences were signaled and what marked its arrival is the construction of the very first Gothic structure in Spain. The cathedral has particular impact taken from French and German styles of buildings.
There are many things that you can learn about a country’s history by observing the many different types of architectural structures that it has. It’s impressive how Spain has preserved much of its heritage through the conservation and safeguard of historic architectures.
